A pulsating and upbeat musical event as thought provoking as it is entertaining in a 70 minute power packed concert in the State Theatre.
Featuring the music that has inspired musicians… and the music they write to inspire change in the world.
Big Notes is set to deliver a sublime mix of musical styles from roots and reggae to hip-hop and rock – sharing the power of their own stories and those of people who have inspired them…

Designed to further engage students troughout the term via this website, Big Notes promises to be an extraordinary music event.
Regularly visit this site from early May to meet your Big Notes artists and get a background on the issues behind the Big Notes program.
Student and teachers will be able to download resource kits from the Big Notes website that provide a background into the 3 main areas of songs of significance:
- Social Songs
- Political Songs
- Personal Response
Both introductory and extension activities for the classroom are available.
Students from schools attending the Big Notes concert can creatively participate in the program online by submitting video responses to the following question.
“…How has a song inspired you or changed the way you look at yourself/the world? …”
Schools can use their own video technology or have access to one of the Arts Centres easy to use OUTREACH AND ACCESS POCKET CAMERA VIDEO KITS. Responses will be posted on the Big Notes website and a selection will feature in the Big Notes concert!
